Trapped moisture will appear as a white haze on the leather surface, known as blooming.

Most types of leather will draw in moisture from damp cold or humid air conditions, this invisible air moisture becomes trapped between the leather surface and the sealant during the sealant application process causing a white bloom on the surface when the sealant dries.

Another cause is the surface are not being allowed to dry fully after using a product before application of leather sealant.

Storage of products is another factor - A sealant container can trap moisture from cold or fluctuating air conditions, this moisture can become trapped within a product, when the sealant dries the bloom becomes visual on the surface.

Bloom Remover Remedy:
Ensure the surface is fully dry and the room is at an ambient warm temperature, dry wipe the surface, then apply  Buffalo bloom remover using a lint free cloth, dry thoroughly using a heat source (a hairdryer is sufficient) Re-apply sealant which has been stored at an ambient warm temperature without any risk of moisture trapped within the container.

The Bloom remover may rub off darker top colours, so be prepared to re-apply the colour.
The degree to which the original appearance can be restored is largely dependent on the severity of the moisture contamination; if the contamination of moisture is particularly severe it may not be reversed.
